Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. (2 Peter 3:13) But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. Jesus said (John 14:2) In my Father's house are many Mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. Jesus was talking about going to the cross, and by his death, burial, and resurrection; the place he prepared for us was his body of which became our possession, our land, and our inheritance (Ezekiel 44:28 45:1), (Galatians 3:28-29) both here on this earth spiritually, and physically in heaven, and is at hand to become the physical dominion and Kingdom of this earth (Revelation 21:1-2), (Daniel 7:27). We can only inherit the Kingdom by overcoming the evil and wickedness of this world by our faith in Jesus Christ (1 john 5:4). (Revelation 21:1) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. Here is where God will dwell among us, and the everlasting covenant will remain in effect that "He will be our God and we will be his People". The bible is specific that it will be a new Jerusalem, which will come down from Heaven (Revelation 3:12). (Zecharia 21:1) On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. The prophet Zecharia fortold a prophecy given to him from God, that Jesus will stand on the mount of Olives in Jerusalem and an earth quake will split the mount in two, because that will be the place where the new Jerusalem will come to a rest. (Revelation 21:12) And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. Here the new Jerusalem is described as a city with twelve gates and having the name of each tribe of Israel written above each Gate. If we look at Genesis chapter 49; Jacob gave each of his sons their character and personality of life. The Gates are on all sides of the city and are 12 in total. The new city is also like a precious stone called Jasper and that is more like diamond and it is clear as crystal. The foundation of the city had the name of the twelve aposltes of Jesus Christ (Jesus is called "the Lamb") (Revelation 21:16-21) The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 furlongs in length, and as wide and high as it is long. He measured its wall and it was 144 cubits , by man's measurement, which the angel was using. The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass. The length being 12000 furlongs is the same as 375 miles long on each side. and 114 cubits is the same as 200 feet tall are the walls of this city. The foundations of the city has precious stones that form the color of "the rainbow", which is also an everlastion covenant (Genesis 9:16). The Gates were made from pearls and the fact that these gates are very large to the reference of this city, means these pearls are very huge. The reason why the Gates are made from pearls is a fact in the bible where usually gold, silver and precious stones are compared to good faith. (1 Peter 1:7), (Revelations 3:18) The scripture says the victory to overcome this world is by our faith (1 john 5:4). Jesus says the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it (Matthew 13:45-46). The goodly pearls are those who have faith in Jesus Christ, because only by faith can we please God (Hebrews 11:6), and Jesus had told the pharisees that the kingdom of God is not by observation (Luke 17:20-21), because it is in the midst of them (the spirit of Christ). Thus, the large door pearls in the New Jerusalem represents our costly trials to overcome in this world by faith in Christ who shed his precious blood for the sins of mankind (1 Peter 1:18-19), which is more of value than gold or silver; The blood which Jesus Christ shed for our sins to redeem us is as costly as those huge door pearls, and our faith in him is worth it! (Revelation 21:23-26) The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. The city does not need the Sun or Moon for the light, because Christ is the light of the world (John 12:46), and whosoever believeth in him should not abide in darkness. The Gates of course will never be shut, because Jesus said all who lay up their treasures in heaven (faith and obedience of his word) has laid up treasures where moth and rust does not corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal (Matthew 6:20). (Revelation 21:1) Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. So the water of life is that which is pure and fresh and crystal clear, and it is flowing like a river from God's throne and straight down the city. Jesus said to the woman of Samaria: "whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life" (John 4:14). On each side of this crytal clear river are the tree of life bearing their fruit once every month. God said "if ye be willing and obedient, you shall eat of the good of the land" (Isaiah 1:19). This is how it was in the Garden of Eden before Adam and Eve sinned. Everything is now restored and the fruits from the tree of life is to keep our body of flesh sustaind; though we will be by nature in the spiritual body. (1 Corinthians 15:42-44,53) What about us...how will life be for us?? (Revelation 21:4) He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. (Isaiah 33:24) And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity. So there will never be someone with headache pain, or stomach pain, or any sickness such as a fever or flu, and there will be no death because Jesus Christ gave us the victory over death by taking our place on the cross of calvary so that through his death he destroyed him that had the power over death, that is the devil (Hebrews 2:14). We shall have everlasting life, because we will receive the spirit of Christ which is our life (John 6:27), (Colossians 3:4). All things will be made new and of pure righteousness on this earth (2 Peter 3:13). (Isaiah 40:31) but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow tired, they will walk and not be faint. Interesting enough, we will be able to run long distances and not even get tired and to "soar on wings like eagles" is an example where Philip, after he had preached, teached, and baptized the Ethiopian eunuch; the spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, so that the eunuch saw him no more.(Acts 8:39) What about our own Homes?? (Isaiah 65:21) They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat. For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people; my chosen ones will long enjoy the works of their hands. There will be all kinds of precious stones and material to build. Further more, the earth will be very fertile for planting and certainly the fruits shall be greater and tastier. We must remember that this earth that we are living in today was cursed three times because of sin (Genesis 3:17-19). And everyone will be able to plant whatever they wish. And no one will inhabit your house, because everyone will be able to build a house of their own; their will be no theives to break through or steal (Matthew 6:20). We will enjoy the works of our hands is the proof that we will not just be spiritual beings as many people think. (I Corinthians 15:44,53) Our days will be as the days of a tree simply means that the number of years one fruit from the tree of life can carry us up to is nearly 1000 years; this can be proven from when Adam and Eve no longer had access to the tree of life, their life span was nearly 1000 years and so were their decendants (Genesis 5) until the life span shorten to what it is today (Psalm 90:10), because we are living in a corrupt body of sin and we do not have access to the tree of life (Luke 6:43). What about the Animals?? (Isaiah 11:6-9) The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the viper's nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. This is the most amazing thing about life on the Earth made new. The animals that we have today and are so wild and dangerous, will not be the same anymore, because all animals will be tamed. Children playing with lions and snakes without any harm or fear. Lions and other beast no longer eating each other but rather eating the grass of the fields, and the lion will be able to lie down next to a lamb just like normal. (Isaiah 11:6-9) For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. Our names will not be changed and we will worship every sabbath because this is part of the everlasting covenant. This proves that it is important for us to keep the sabbath holy even today just as God made it, since it will still have to be kept in Heaven. In conclusion the scripture says only those who follow and obey God from his word, will inherit the earth and have access to the tree of life.(Revelation 22:14) (Revelation 2: 7) He that have an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (Matthew 5: 3-12) Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven. And after all these things are given to us and everyone is satisfied, Jesus will say : (Revelation 21: 6) It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life freely.  Back to Homepage 1       Goto Homepage 2
